 Imagine if you will, a place of total comfort, hygiene, dignity, safety and freedom from responsibility. This is what I propose for the elderly demented population, which will include any of us, unless we die of other causes first. Senescent or senile dementia is inevitable, although one may be of centenarian status to join the ranks of the demented. Current facilities are oriented to approach dementia as a disease, offering medical treatment for intellectual impairment and agitation. While some dementias are indeed a reflection of a defined disease state such as Parkinson disease, Pick disease, Huntington chorea, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and presenile dementia (Alzheimer disease), the vast majority of demented residents are beyond the usual American lifespan of 78 to 80 years and are intellectually impaired because of senile dementia, which happens to exhibit the same neuropathology as presenile dementia of Alzheimer.

 		This group is for swapping Artist Trading Cards (ATCs). There will be themed swaps in the database which you will sign up for until the date in which the swaps close. Then you will have some time (about 2 weeks) to make your cards, and send to your swap partner. In each themed swap, you will make only 2 cards, and they will both be sent to your partner. Your partner in turn will make 2 cards and send them to you. The only rule to these ATCs are that they be 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" in size, and that you follow the theme, other than that, ANYTHING GOES!  Die ATC-Welle wurde 1996 von M. Vänci Stirnemann, geb.1956, ins Leben gerufen. Ziel war und ist es, Tauschaktionen und Tauschtreffs ins Leben zu rufen, bei denen sich die Künstler über Techniken bis hin zur Inspiration austauschen konnten. 1997 fand der erste Tausch in Zürich in der Schweiz statt. Seither sind hunderte Kartenkünstler mit ihren neuesten Werken immer wieder auf der Suche nach neuen Tauschpartnern.
