| In November 1995, Jan Loeffler moved from
Switzerland to Colorado Springs, accompanied by his American wife
Evelyn. Traveling with them in their luggage was a StoneHarp named
NUFENEN, a 90 pound Stone-Steel-String Sculpture which Jan had created
- 1993/94 in his studio in Aldesago, Switzerland. - The StoneHarp
(NUFENEN) was awarded with the "Best-of-Show" in the 1996 Colorado
Springs Art Guild Springtime Exhibit held at the FIRST UNITED BANK in
Colorado Springs. For the second time Jan Loeffler has won the Best of Show (Juror: Sparky LeBold) award with another sculpture. His piece POWERTOWER has a religious theme. Formerly of Switzerland, Jan is very impressed with the different religions of our country. He is very moved by the strong convictions of the various faiths as well as the freedom of expression. His POWERTOWER seeks to encompass all humanity in the outreached form of the steel and wooden creation. December 25, 2004 Jan A Loeffler lost his home, studio and sculpture garden in Colorado Springs. Now in a small apartment in Denver he's trying to make some income as ''The ToolMan of Colorado", selling Swiss Quality Hand Tools, a PB Baumann product line. Many of these tools are offered in sets. During the Christmas season, I played for the visitors of the Holiday Art Show in the Fine Arts Center of Colorado Springs. Other music could be heard as well - flute music. Grandmother Flute Player was playing on American-Indian flutes for the visitors of this exhibition. I had always wished someone would play the flute to accompany the sounds of the StoneHarps. - CLICK HERE An abstract rendering of an expecting woman, made 1991 in Switzerland as a ''logo'' for newspaper advertising to support the text (in German) ''Schwangerschaftsturnen''.
