BAD NEWS - JULY 10, 2001 - 2.30 p.m. MST
Worlds first StoneHarp, "born" January in Switzerland 1994, collapsed July 9, 2001 in Colorado Springs, U.S.A.
According to the artist Jan A. Loeffler, the NUFENEN will be repaired because: "It is the first sculpture I made ..." said Jan. Today the StoneHarp NUFENEN is on display in the Sculpture Garden of Jan & Evelyn Loeffler, direct in the front of their house, providing much joy for people walking or driving by and even illuminated in the night.
In the now empty space Jan installed an Iron Butterfly which is not another Installation Art Sculpture by Jan A. Loeffler, but a 4th of July gift for the garden of friends. Yesterday (July 8th) Jan installed "legs" to the butterfly - just in time to fill-in for the broken down NUFENEN.

In November 1995, Jan Loeffler moved from Switzerland to Colorado Springs, accompanied by his American wife Evelyn. Traveling with them in their luggage was a StoneHarp named NUFENEN, a 90 pound Stone-Steel-String Sculpture which Jan had created - 1993/94 in his studio in Aldesago, Switzerland. - The StoneHarp (NUFENEN) was awarded with the "Best-of-Show" in the 1996 Colorado Springs Art Guild Springtime Exhibit held at the FIRST UNITED BANK in Colorado Springs.
